1995
Information International
Information International has been working since 1995 in the field of research and consultancy in Lebanon and the Arab region, covering various sectors: social and economic, needs assessment, tourism, market studies, opinion polls, feasibility studies, environmental studies, good governance and training. Information International also publishes “The Monthly”, an Arabic and English magazine that examines public sector issues and analyzes them relying on facts and figures. Information International publications include dozens of books and studies on government expenditures, corruption and municipal and parliamentary elections.
1997
INMA
In 1997, Zeina Akar co-founded INMA, an organization working in the fields of health, environment, education, heritage protection, and public awareness. The association has carried out several sustainable national projects in multiple sectors: agriculture, tourism, information technology (IT), Health, education and women’s capacity building. One of the most prominent projects implemented by the Inmaa Association, and managed by Akar, is the establishment of the “Nabu” Museum of Antiquities and Arts in northern Lebanon. The project was co-founded by Jawad Adra, Badr Al-Hajj and Fidaa Jadid. The museum provides a space to display artwork and acts as an institution to keep communities connected to their culture.
2007
Kutub Ltd
In addition to her work as Executive Director of Information International and INMA, Mrs. Akar has been running since 2007 “Kutub Ltd.”, a publishing house specialized in cultural, historical and factual books on Lebanon and the region.
2018
Nabu Museum

2020
Minister of National Defense
In January 2020, Zeina Akar assumed her position as deputy to Hassan Diab, Prime Minister of the technocrats, and also held the position of Minister of Defense after the President Michel Aoun, proposed her name. Akar remained in this position for about two years, during which she also temporarily took over the management of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates from May until her resignation in September 2021.
